A teenage boy has tragically died and a man has been seriously injured following a horror accident involving farm machinery in Malvern, Worcestershire.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Blackmore Park Road at approximately 8.50am this morning (Thursday), where the incident unfolded on a farm site.
Paramedics arrived to find the teenage boy in a critical condition and immediately began advanced life support. Despite their best efforts, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Rushed to Hospital
A second casualty, a man, was discovered with serious injuries. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital under emergency conditions. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Investigation Underway
West Mercia Police confirmed the incident involved farmyard machinery and that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed. Officers remain on site while enquiries continue.
A police spokesperson said:
“Police are currently at the scene of a site near Blackmore Park Road in Malvern after a teenage boy died in an incident involving farm machinery.
A second male also sustained injuries. The HSE has been informed and is assisting with the investigation.
We ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Emergency Response
In a statement, West Midlands Ambulance Service detailed the scale of the emergency response:
“We were called to an incident at an address off Blackmore Park Road at 8.50am.
We sent two ambulances, three paramedic officers, a BASICS emergency doctor, and the Midlands Air Ambulances from Cosford and Strensham to the scene.
Crews found a teenage boy in a critical condition and began life-saving treatment. Sadly, he was confirmed deceased at the scene.
A man was also treated for serious injuries and transported to hospital.”
The incident has prompted a full investigation, with the HSE expected to review working conditions and safety procedures on-site.
