Train services were brought to a standstill at Denmark Hill station this morning after a person was hit by a train, prompting a full emergency response and significant delays for commuters.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of the incident. As a result, all lines through the station were temporarily blocked, with Thameslink and other services cancelled, delayed, or revised.

Train operator Thameslink Rail UK issued a statement via social media, saying:

“Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident at Denmark Hill, all lines are currently blocked. Train services running through this station will be cancelled, delayed or revised.”

The disruption  initially  lasted until 1:00pm, though passengers were advised that this could change depending on the situation.

Thameslink later confirmed:

“We understand this incident may have caused distress and inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience while services are being restored.”
