Travellers move in just in time for Victorious Festival in Southsea

Travellers who have taken up residence on the Canoe Lakes in Southsea have been ordered to move on. It seems that their ideas of a free VIP ticket to the Victorious Festival have been scuppled Hampshire Constabulary and the City council this morning (Thursday, August 16th ) issued a Section 61 notice ordering the families to leave the area. The Travellers started arrived on Tuesday and Wednesday and the situation has been monitored by locals and a police. One resident said that the police visited overnight and will be returning this morning with council officers. Portsmouth City Council said: “Police have served a Section 61 notice on a number caravans parked near the in the canoe lakes and surrounding areas. today. Officers from Council have been working closely with the Police the spokeman said.
