A young mother has tragically drowned after becoming trapped between boulders at a seafront beauty spot in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
Tragic Accident on Lowestoft Beach
Saffron Cole-Nottage, 32, is believed to have tripped and fallen between the rocks along the seawall at The Esplanade on Sunday night (February 2, 2025). Despite desperate rescue attempts, she sadly died at the scene.
Emergency services were called at around 8:03pm, with a major response from:
- Suffolk Police
- HM Coastguard rescue officers from Lowestoft
- East of England Ambulance Service
- East Anglian Air Ambulance
However, despite their best efforts, Cole-Nottage could not be saved.
“You will be forever missed by so many, and I’m really not sure I’ll ever be the same without you.”
Online tributes have also flooded social media, with one friend writing:
“Rest in paradise Saff.”
Another added:
“My beautiful bestie, forever 32. The light to my everything. I will miss you forever and always – the pain hurts so much. Love you, Saffron Cole-Nottage.”
