Tunbridge Wells residents have been plunged into a water crisis after the Pembury water treatment works ground to a halt today. The sudden shutdown has left taps running dry across the town and surrounding areas.

Water Treatment Works Shuts, Tanks Run Low

South East Water reported an “issue” at the Pembury facility around 1:30pm on Saturday, forcing an immediate closure. The problem drained the local drinking water storage tanks, knocking out the crucial booster pumps.
