The United Kingdom is preparing for a bitter cold snap as freezing fog and sub-zero temperatures are forecasted to engulf the country. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the Met Office have jointly issued an amber Cold-Health Alert (CHA) for the North West, North East, and Yorkshire and the Humber regions.

The alert, which came into effect at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, is expected to remain in place until midday on Tuesday, December 5. During this period, the entire UK is expected to experience frigid conditions, with temperatures plummeting as low as minus eight degrees Celsius.
