In a significant move, the US House of Representatives has given the green light to a $61 billion (£49 billion) aid package aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s military efforts in countering the ongoing Russian invasion. The approval comes at a crucial juncture, as Ukraine’s armed forces grapple with dwindling munitions and escalating hostilities.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for the decision, emphasising the global importance of democracy and freedom. In a statement, he said, “Democracy and freedom will always have global significance and will never fail as long as America helps to protect it.” Zelenskyy believes that the aid bill, which passed through the House, will not only prevent the war from expanding but also save countless lives and strengthen both nations.
