Sriram Ambarla, 23 of no fixed address, was charged on Sunday, 27 March. He is due to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 March.
Police were called at 2.22pm on Friday, 25 March, to a report of a stabbing on Barking Road, Newham.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a woman, aged in her early 20s, with stab injuries. She was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious, but stable, condition.
