A man has been charged with attempted murder following a violent hammer attack in Eastbourne

He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 5 August and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 2 September.

Detective Constable Mike Symons reassured the public that police believe this was an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing risk to the wider community.
