A suspected burglar has appeared at court following an attempted break-in at a Sittingbourne pharmacy – UKNIP

At around 10.15pm on Monday 7 March 2022, Kent Police received a report that a window had been damaged at the business in Milton Regis High Street. Officers went to the scene and then started a search of the area. At around 11.35pm, a patrol saw a suspicious vehicle and requested the driver to stop. It is alleged the car did not stop and, following a pursuit, it came to a halt in Basser Hill, Lower Halstow, where the driver was arrested. George Bignall, of Middletune Avenue, Sittingbourne was later charged with attempted burglary, dangerous driving, failing to stop when required by a police officer, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen of blood for a test. Mr Bignall, aged 42, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 March, where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 7 April.
