Zara Aleena’s killer, Jordan McSweeney, has reportedly been caught in a compromising situation within the confines of HMP Belmarsh, where he is currently incarcerated. McSweeney, 30, had previously admitted to the killing and sexual assault of the 35-year-old law graduate during a late-night attack in East London.
The horrific incident occurred in June 2022 when McSweeney, a resident of Dagenham in East London, brutally kicked and stamped on the victim. Disturbingly, McSweeney had only recently been released from prison at the time of the attack.

His criminal history is marked by 28 convictions for a total of 69 crimes dating back to 2006, including offences such as burglary, assaulting the police, and racially motivated incidents.
According to reports McSweeney was allegedly discovered engaging in a sexual encounter with a female prison worker in April of the previous year. The worker involved is not identified as a prison officer. It is alleged that they locked themselves inside a room within the prison during the incident.
Following the revelation of this incident, the prison worker has reportedly been suspended, and an internal investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances that led to the compromising situation.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that they received an allegation of inappropriate conduct involving a serving staff member at HMP Belmarsh on April 6, 2023. On the same day, a 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. She was subsequently released on bail pending further inquiries, with a scheduled return date in late July. Currently, she remains under investigation as the police continue to delve into the matter.
The emergence of these allegations raises questions about the security protocols and oversight within the prison system. McSweeney’s previous convictions and the violent nature of his crime have drawn significant attention to his case. The ongoing investigation will undoubtedly shed light on the circumstances surrounding this incident and the actions taken by the authorities to address it.
As developments unfold, the public and concerned parties await further information regarding this concerning situation within HMP Belmarsh
