A man has been jailed for three years after police uncovered 33 vials of cocaine hidden in his car during a routine stop in the City of London.

Arroyave Andres Felipe Ocampo, 28, of Charlton Road, Edmonton, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a false ID, driving without insurance, and driving while disqualified.

The arrest followed an incident on 11 November 2024, when officers from the City of London Police stopped Ocampo’s vehicle on London Wall around 4:50pm. Checks showed he was not the registered owner and had no valid insurance.

Suspicious Behaviour Raised Red Flags

Police said Ocampo took his time to stop the vehicle and was observed attempting to delete messages on his phone as officers approached. A search of the vehicle, assisted by police dogs, led to the discovery of cocaine hidden in the driver’s side window control panel.

In total, 33 vials of cocaine and £330 in cash were seized.
