Drug Dealer Nabbed with 'Al Capone' Phone Alias in Enfield Sting

Zak Nsubuga’s Arrest After Police Raid

Zak Nsubuga, 29, was busted at his home on Vian Avenue, Enfield, in September. Essex Police had traced him as a drug dealer running a supply line from Enfield into Brentwood.

He shockingly registered a phone under the nickname ‘Al Capone’, but that didn’t save him.

When officers stormed through his front door, Nsubuga tried to ditch a blue bag and make a run for it via his bedroom window. Thankfully, police stopped him in his tracks.

Drugs, Cash & Phones Seized

A search of Nsubuga’s home uncovered:

  • Seven mobile phones
  • Bundles of individual drug wraps
  • A sizeable stash of cash
  • Drug preparation equipment

Swift Justice at Wood Green Crown Court

Nsubuga was slapped with charges for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and handling criminal property.

He pleaded guilty at Southend Magistrates’ Court on September 5 and faced sentencing on November 17.

Judge at Wood Green Crown Court handed him a three-year prison term.

Detective’s Warning

“By the time Nsubuga was arrested, he had no idea of the strength of the case we already had against him, which meant he was quickly charged and admitted all offences,” said Detective Sergeant Tom Whelan-Bassett.

“While he’s behind bars, we’ll chase him to seize all assets under the Proceeds of Crime Act and claw back every penny for the law-abiding public.”
