Fire crews from Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester have been called to the Cat B Local Prison on Romsey Road following reports of an incident.
Four fire crews a landrover and an aerial ladder were scrambled to the troubled jail just before 9pm on Tuesday evening.
The nature of the incident is currently unclear but it’s understood to involve a fire with persons reported
