At 4:05 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022, Kent Police responded to a report of an assault in Oak Road. Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service responded, and the man was transported to a London hospital with a serious injury consistent with a stab wound. Later that evening, a 20-year-old man from the Sittingbourne area was arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of class A drugs with intent to supply. The suspect and the victim are thought to be acquainted. An ongoing investigation has resulted in the seizure of a knife and suspected class A drugs.
