Hampshire Police Specials attended a large car meet last night, spread across various locations throughout the county. The event, which attracted numerous car enthusiasts, saw some attendees committing various driving offences, according to a statement released by the Hampshire Specials.
Officers on the ground and aerial units were deployed to monitor the meet, and evidence of the offences was captured from both the air and officers on-site. As a result, a number of Notice of Intended Prosecutions (NIPs) will be sent out to those identified as having breached traffic laws.
This is not the first time police have targeted large car meets in Hampshire. Authorities have been stepping up enforcement at these events as part of a wider crackdown on illegal driving behaviour in the area. Notices of intended prosecutions will be sent to the offenders in the coming days, with penalties likely to follow.
