Detectives investigating the discovery of a suspicious object in Borehamwood have charged a man with attempted murder and explosive-related offences.

Police were called on Saturday, 16 August, after reports that a suspicious object had been found at an address in the Cowley Hill area.

Detective Inspector Caeva Taylor, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said:

“I understand that the news of this incident has caused concern among the local community. We believe this to be an isolated incident, involving parties known to one of the suspects, and there is no intelligence to suggest any wider threat to the public.

I’d like to take this opportunity to appeal to the public for any information that may assist our enquiries. If you remember noticing anything suspicious in the Cowley Hill area between Friday 15 August and Saturday 16 August, or have any information that may help, please contact us.”
