David Tilici, of Chapel Street in Luton, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on August 2nd after being found guilty of assault and child neglect.
On Monday December 11th Tilici was staying at the Campanile Hotel in Liverpool when he assaulted the newborn baby in a hotel room.
He was on a call with the baby’s mother at the time who heard the baby in distress and quickly alerted the hotel who rang the emergency services for assistance.
The baby was taken to Alder Hey Hospital where it was confirmed the baby had injuries that were consistent with non-accidental trauma.
Tilici, who had been drinking alcohol and couldn’t explain what had happened, was arrested by police later that same evening.
Tilici, 29, has been jailed for 10 years.
