The court heard that Bradley Garrett entered the property uninvited, carrying a bottle of wine. He then proceeded to hit the occupant of the address with the wine bottle, causing it to smash and resulting in a brief fight between Garrett and the victim. The victim sustained serious injuries to his face.

Garrett, 22, of no fixed address, was arrested on 24 October 2023 and later charged with Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm.

On 17 June, Garrett appeared before Lewes Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to the charges. He was subsequently sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment.
