A man responsible for causing disturbances at two bars in Rochester has been promptly sentenced to jail for his violent and abusive behaviour.
Alfie Mack-Hudson’s unruly actions unfolded on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, when he entered a public house on High Street and immediately began behaving offensively towards a staff member. When asked to leave, he escalated the situation by assaulting a customer who came to the aid of the bar staff.
Undeterred, Mack-Hudson then proceeded to a second pub on the same road where he continued his abusive behaviour towards another staff member, even going as far as making threats. When the victim attempted to call the police for assistance, Mack-Hudson forcibly knocked the phone out of her hand before departing.
Police patrols were promptly dispatched to the scene, and Mack-Hudson was swiftly located nearby. However, his defiance did not end there, as he became violent during his arrest, assaulting two female constables and attempting to bite them.
Subsequently, Mack-Hudson, a 27-year-old resident of Elizabeth Street, Greenhithe, was charged with two counts of assault, two counts of assault on emergency workers, and a public order offence. He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, February 15, where he pleaded guilty to all charges.
In light of the severity of his offences, Mack-Hudson was immediately sentenced to 18 weeks’ imprisonment.
Police Sergeant Paul Relf, from the Medway Victim Based Crime Team, emphasized the importance of a robust response to such behaviour, stating, “Hospitality staff should not have to suffer abuse and violence, and I am pleased Mack-Hudson has been sent straight to jail.
Additionally, Mack-Hudson will be subject to an exclusion order from both establishments, ensuring that upon his release, he will not be permitted to return to the premises where he caused distress and disruption.
The decisive action taken by Kent Police serves as a reminder that antisocial and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated, and those responsible will face the full force of the law.
Alfie Mack-Hudson’s violent and abusive behaviour has led to his immediate imprisonment, serving as a warning against such conduct in the community.
