Murder Investigation Launched After Man Fatally Stabbed in Newham
Mr. Ahmed was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries on Monday, October 7. His next of kin are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.
A murder investigation is now underway, led by detectives from Scotland Yard. Daniel Whybrow, 46, who lives on Hartington Road where the incident took place, was initially charged with attempted murder on Sunday, October 6. In light of Mr. Ahmed’s death, these charges will be reviewed by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). Whybrow also faces charges of grievous bodily harm, threats to kill, racially aggravated assault, and possession of an offensive weapon.
Whybrow is due to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday, November 4. Police have confirmed they are not seeking any other suspects in connection with the attack.
