A child rapist is behind bars after being found guilty of abusing a schoolgirl in Newcastle.
Paedophile Glen Mills, 36, had been accused of subjecting his victim to the sustained abuse before she bravely reported it to Northumbria Police in 2019
Mills, of no fixed abode, denied the offences and put the schoolgirl through the ordeal of a criminal trial.
But a jury saw through his lives and he was convicted of the abuse. He has been remanded in custody until a sentencing hearing on April 26 where he is likely to be jailed.
Detective Constable Chris Hewison led the investigation and hopes that his conviction is the start of a recovery process for the victim.
