Leanne Hodgson, a 43-year-old removal company owner, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison after attempting to use a wheelie bin as a weapon during a race-related riot and hurling racial slurs at a police officer.
The incident took place during recent disturbances in Sunderland, where Hodgson was captured on video attempting to wield a wheelie bin as a weapon. Her efforts, however, were unsuccessful and quickly led to her arrest.
In a fit of rage, Hodgson verbally assaulted a police officer, calling him a “f**king Black c**t.” The shocking behaviour was condemned by the court, leading to her swift sentencing.
Hodgson, who runs a removal company, now finds herself removed from her home and business as she begins her prison sentence. The judge presiding over the case emphasized the severity of her actions, noting that her behaviour was both dangerous and deeply offensive.
