Teenager Charged Following Attempted Robberies in Sheerness

A man accused of assaulting a woman in Chatham has appeared in court following his arrest. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, 16 July, prompted an immediate police response.

Mohammed Salah, 23, of Coupland Place, London, faced charges of assault by beating and criminal damage after allegedly confronting a woman on the street. According to reports, the victim, whose identity remains protected, was approached and verbally harassed by Salah before the situation escalated to physical assault when she requested him to leave her alone.

Officers from Kent Police were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident, leading to Salah’s arrest. He was subsequently remanded and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 17 July. At the hearing, Salah was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 18 October for further proceedings.

Kent Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and have appealed to the public for any witnesses to come forward. Information can be relayed through the non-emergency police contact number, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
