Three men have been sentenced for their roles in a violent brawl that broke out on a busy high street in Portslade last year, leaving one person seriously injured.
The incident occurred on April 2, 2024, when multiple men were reported to be fighting with weapons on Station Road and Franklin Road. A large emergency response was triggered, and one of the participants sustained a serious wound to their arm.
Between April 2 and April 4, Sussex Police arrested nine individuals in connection with the incident. Two were later released without charge, while seven were charged and brought before Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
Court Proceedings and Trial
The case went to trial at Brighton Crown Court in November 2024. During the proceedings, four of the accused—Kosar Banaee, Hogr Banaee, Kozeen Banaee, and Ali Husseini—were acquitted.
“This incident has resulted in the sentencing of three individuals and serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of such violent actions.”
