Two people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run incident in Hammersmith that resulted in the death of 58-year-old Ina Rodrigues earlier this year.
The Incident
On January 16, Ina Rodrigues was struck by a moped on Talgarth Road near West Kensington. The moped failed to stop at the scene and was abandoned shortly after the collision. Rodrigues was taken to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries almost a week later, on January 21.
Arrests Made
This week, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.
The man was arrested on Wednesday, December 4, while the woman was taken into custody on Thursday, December 5. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries, with their next scheduled appearances in January 2025.
Police Appeal
Detectives from the Met Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their enquiries and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
