Two Charged in Serious Assault Investigation in Strood

 

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Strood have charged two suspects, with a third currently in police custody. The incident occurred at a property on High Street around 11:40 pm on Sunday, 6 October 2024. Shortly after, police patrols were alerted to Medway Hospital where a man in his 20s had arrived with stab wounds. The victim was later transferred to a London hospital for further treatment and has since been discharged.

Kent Police launched an investigation into the disturbance, leading to the arrest of Raphael Wally, 20, from Wateridge Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire. Wally was apprehended in Northampton on Wednesday, 16 October, where officers also seized a quantity of cannabis. He has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court and has been remanded to Woolwich Crown Court for a hearing on Monday, 11 November.

In connection with the same investigation, a second suspect, Callum Clements, 26, of Keary Road, Swanscombe, was arrested on Monday, 7 October. Clements has been charged with aggravated burglary and appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 16 October. He has also been remanded to the Woolwich Crown Court hearing alongside Mr. Wally.

A third suspect, a 20-year-old man from London, was detained by officers on Thursday, 24 October. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
