Worthing Man Caught with 350 Drug Wraps After Armed Police Stop

Default Heading H1

A man has been remanded in custody following a significant drug bust in Worthing.

On Tuesday 9 July, officers from Sussex Police’s Tactical Firearms Unit stopped a Vauxhall Insignia in Grafton Road as part of a proactive operation. A search of a nearby address was then carried out by the Tactical Enforcement Unit, uncovering more than 350 wraps of suspected Class A drugs, believed to be crack cocaine and heroin.

As a result, 25-year-old Tyreek Rodney, of Grafton Road, was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin) with intent to supply

Acquiring, using or possessing criminal property

Possession of a Class B drug

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Lewes Crown Court next month.

Inspector Robert Hart said:

“Our officers safely arrested a suspect in a vehicle, and further searches were completed at an address in Grafton Road. This shows our determination to disrupt the supply of Class A drugs which cause so much harm in our communities.”

The investigation is ongoing.
