A motorist who drove erratically in front of a patrol in Chatham has been arrested. The officers were on patrol in Magpie Hall Road at around 9.30am on Tuesday 22 March 2022 when they spotted a BMW being driven in a way that caught their attention. After the vehicle turned into Newnham Street without any indication, the officers signalled for it to stop. The man was reported to have become aggressive towards officers, striking one of them on the head. He was subsequently arrested. The man, who is in his 20s and from Chatham, received a caution for assaulting an emergency worker. He has been reported for driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
