Southampton Man arrested after approaching girls and women in Fareham

Officers investigating three suspicious incidents in Fareham last Saturday afternoon have made an arrest. Police received three reports of a man approaching women and teenage girls on West Street, Southampton Road, and at Fareham shopping centre and asking inappropriate questions. No-one was hurt. A video of the odd male approaching two 13-year-old girl posted on social media and went viral and has been seen more then 24,000 times. A 32 year-old man from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of an offence with the intention of committing a relevant sexual offence, and using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm, or distress. He remains in custody at this time.
