UPDATED:Armed police throw Lambeth housing estate into lockdown after shots fired

Armed officers from the Metropolitan police “Trojan”  along with response officers were scrambled to Moorland Road in Borough of  Lambeth just after 10:30 pm on Friday,  (December 9th) following reports of a person being shot by a weapon.

Paramedics from the 1 Ambulance Service also called to assist officers at a property that has been surrounded by armed officers.

The incident happened yards from a primary school on Moorland road

A large number of residents have been stopped from returning to their properties.

A large crime scene remains in place. A spokesman for the Met Police said:  Officers are investigating shots fired in the Moorland Road area of Brixton just after 10pm last night.
