A joint vehicle enforcement operation carried out by the Metropolitan Police Service’s Southwark unit and the Vehicle Enforcement Team has resulted in a major haul of illegal and unsafe vehicles, as well as arrests linked to criminal offences.

The pre-planned deployment, carried out across the Southwark Basic Command Unit (BCU), took place earlier this week and led to the following outcomes:

  • ? 22 vehicles seized

  • ? 2 individuals arrested for a variety of offences

  • ⚠️ 1 vehicle prohibition notice issued due to dangerous mechanical condition

Police confirmed that the operation targeted drivers flouting road laws, particularly those without insurance, licences, or who were using vehicles in an unroadworthy state.
