It is reported a woman was threatened by a man who also physically assaulted her in the Great Lines Heritage Park. The incident happened at around 4pm on Tuesday 20 August 2024, after the victim had been walking along a footpath from Chatham and in the direction of Medway Maritime Hospital.

She stopped to sit on a bench, where the suspect sat next to her and started talking to her. It is alleged he made verbal threats towards the woman who was pushed to the floor during attempts to sexually assault her. The suspect left the scene towards Chatham High Street after two witnesses approached.
