All Residents Have Been Told To Leave The Town Of Brechin In Angus, Scotland, Due To Flooding From Storm Babet

A severe flood warning is set to be put in place for the Brechin River and South Esk area, Angus Council has said.

Those in the affected areas should leave their homes.

The council will be going door to door shortly and rest centres are being organised

The town in 2020 had roughly 7,230 residents

Police Scotland advice is not to travel unless absolutely essential. The fewer vehicles on the road, the safer everyone will be and the better access for emergency services. People must understand that many roads will be flooded and not marked as closed. Do NOT attempt to drive through flooded roads. We are also expecting more fallen trees to create further hazards.
