A 24-year-old man was seriously injured after being intentionally knocked off his motorcycle on Ferry Road Drive around 1.45pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
The man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
The occupants of the vehicle fled, and investigations are ongoing. The vehicle, a black Fiat Panda, had previously been reported stolen in the neighbourhood.
Officers believe this was a planned attack and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact police.
Violence of this nature will not be tolerated in any part of the city,” said Superintendent Mark Rennie. This is a prime example of a small group of young people instilling fear and concern in a neighbourhood. Our investigation is proceeding smoothly, and we will increase our policing presence in the area to reassure local residents and prevent further disruption. Every person involved in recent incidents in the area will be pursued and arrested, and identified offenders will be brought before the courts as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 and reference 1820 of Thursday, July 28, 2022. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555 111.
