In the early hours of Wednesday 11 October, an attempted hijacking took place in north Belfast, resulting in the arrest of two men aged 32 and 28, as well as a 25-year-old woman. The suspects are being held on suspicion of various offences in connection with the incident.
At approximately 04.00 BST, a woman driving through Downview Park West was approached by two men. The woman stopped her vehicle, only to be threatened by one of the men who brandished a knife. Fearing for her safety, the victim exited her car, at which point the suspects pursued her for a short distance while attempting to steal her phone. Eventually, the pair fled the scene on foot.
