Suspect’s Car Was Abandoned on QEII Bridge After Fatal Shooting

A body has been recovered from the River Thames in connection with the murder of 43-year-old Lisa Smith, who was shot and killed outside a pub in Knockholt last month.

Lisa was fatally shot on Friday, 14 February 2025, outside a pub on Main Road, Knockholt. Police quickly identified a suspect known to Lisa, whose car was later discovered abandoned on the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge that same evening.

Body Discovered in River Thames

On Friday, 7 March, at approximately 3:45 pm, police recovered a body from the River Thames near Rainham, Essex.

While formal identification is yet to be completed, officers have notified the suspect’s family of the discovery.
