Police are responding to a disturbance involving several people in Phoenix Rise, Brighton, this evening (Tuesday 26 August).

Sussex Police confirmed that a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker. He has been taken into custody.

Residents can expect a visible police presence in the area while enquiries continue.

A spokesperson said:

“We are urging anyone who saw what happened, or who captured mobile, CCTV or dash cam footage, to report it online or call 101 quoting crime reference 47250169337.”
