Child and Three Others Rescued from Fire in Disused Sutton Office Block

Four people, including a child, were rescued by firefighters from a blaze at a disused office block on Sutton Court Road on the evening of Friday, 29 November.

The London Fire Brigade deployed four fire engines and 25 firefighters to the scene after being called to the incident at 7:30 pm.

Fire Details

The fire involved approximately 16 square metres of rubbish outside the entrance to the building. A small part of the external fascia of the office block was also damaged.

Firefighters successfully rescued the four individuals from the rear flat roof of an adjoining building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Investigation Underway

The fire was brought under control by 8:30 pm, and the cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.

Statement

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said:

“Firefighters acted swiftly to bring the fire under control and ensure the safety of those involved. We urge members of the public to report any suspicious activity near disused buildings to help prevent similar incidents.”
