In a dramatic rescue operation, Coastguard teams sprang into action to assist eight kayakers who found themselves in distress on the River Medway earlier today. The Sheppey, Medway, and Herne Bay Coastguard Teams, along with Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 163 and Sheerness Inshore and All-Weather Lifeboats, were swiftly mobilized to the scene.
At approximately 3.05pm, authorities received reports of kayakers encountering difficulties on the river. One of the kayakers had ended up in the water, prompting urgent intervention from the Coastguard.
