Police in riot gear sealed off Tilney Road after reports of assault

Police in east London have arrested a man after he allegedly barricaded himself inside a property in Dagenham this morning (September 1).

Officers were called to Hedgemans Road at around 8.45am following reports of an assault.

When police arrived, they traced the suspect to a nearby address on Tilney Road, where he locked himself inside.

Specialist officers called

Cordons were quickly established and specialist officers in riot gear were deployed to the scene. Pictures from the street show officers carrying shields as they moved into position.

After negotiations, police entered the property and arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH) and public order offences.

A dog was also seized from the address.
