An Enfield resident has issued a stark warning to neighbours after a harrowing attempted robbery on their own driveway. The incident occurred at approximately 7:42 PM on Sunday, April 14, on Pembroke Avenue, when a man threatened to stab the victim to steal their mobile phone.
The resident, who asked to remain anonymous, shared the chilling details in hopes of alerting the community and encouraging vigilance.
The Attack
The suspect — described as being in his early 20s and wearing a dark blue hoodie and a blue face mask — approached the victim as they were walking from their home to their car, phone in hand. The assailant attempted to engage in conversation, claiming he had recently been stabbed and asking if the victim knew anyone in the area.
When the resident declined to speak, the man asked to see their Snapchat account to check if they followed the individuals he alleged had attacked him. Upon being refused, the situation escalated.
“He reached for his pocket claiming he had a knife and said: ‘Give me your phone or I’ll stab you up,’” the victim recalled. “He then saw my neighbour’s security camera and added, ‘I don’t give a sh*t about cameras, I’ll stab you up.’”
The quick-thinking resident managed to avoid harm by immediately entering their vehicle, locking the doors, and contacting police. Realising authorities were being called, the suspect reportedly pleaded with the victim not to involve them before fleeing into the Enfield Rangers Football Field.
Police Response
Officers responded swiftly and carried out a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Enquiries are ongoing, and residents are encouraged to contact police if they have any information that could assist in identifying the man involved.

“This is unbelievable, especially as it happened right outside my own home,” the victim said. “I urge everyone in the area to stay vigilant, especially during the early evening hours. Times are clearly hard.”
