A Devon & Cornwall Police officer who delivered a baby at the side of the road has described the experience as the “highlight” of her 18-month long career.

PC Gemma Clatworthy had just left police headquarters at Middlemoor, Exeter, shortly before 4pm on Sunday 27 December, with her colleague PC Lucy Austin, when they came across Lucy Kelly in labour in the passenger seat of her car which was pulled over on Honiton Road.
