The family of a man who tragically lost his life following an incident in Gosport has paid tribute to him, describing him as a “generous and kind person” who will be deeply missed.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Exmouth Road at around 5:20 p.m. on Friday, 29 November, after Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service reported a fire at a residential address.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that 65-year-old Andrew Avery, a resident of Gosport, had been the victim of a serious assault at the property. Despite efforts to save him, Mr. Avery succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the attack.
Today (Friday, 6 December), Mr. Avery’s family released a heartfelt tribute to him:
“Andy was a much-loved Husband, Father, Brother, and Dear Friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew him. Andy was the most generous and kind person and would do anything for anyone. His memory will live on through his family and friends.
“Andy, you were so very loved and taken from us far too soon.”
