Fifty People Evacuated after Fire Breaks out in Retirement Home Lee on the Solent

FIREFIGHTERS rescued a resident after a fire broke out at a Hampshire retirement home. A man has been rescued and 50 resident evacuated after the  fire broke out in Lee on the Solent. Emergency services rushed to the scene of a fire at Hometide House in Beach Road, Lee-on-the-Solent this morning. Four pumping appliances from Gosport and Fareham attended the scene and were supported by the command and control unit from Portchester. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, used a ladder and jets to extinguish the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service, called it a “very severe fire… very hot, with arduous conditions.
