Man’s Body Found in Hinckley Park as Police Launch Death Probe

Police have launched an investigation after a man’s body was discovered in a popular Leicestershire park.

Discovery in Wykin Park

Emergency services were called to Wykin Park in Hinckley just after 8.30am on Saturday, 30 August, following reports that a body had been found in a wooded area.

An eyewitness described the scene:

“It doesn’t look good at all. We only went for a park trip and saw all of that.”

Police officers placed a cordon around part of the park. Forensic teams and a green tent were also seen at the site.

Police Statement

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said:

“Just after 8.30am today police were called to Wykin Park in Hinckley following a report that the body of a man had been found.
Officers attended and a scene preservation is in place.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

The man’s identity has not yet been released, with formal identification and an inquest expected to take place at a later date.

Park Open to Public

Wykin Park, which is operated by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, is open 24 hours a day. Police have not confirmed when the cordon will be lifted.
