A police officer from Leicestershire has sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a dog believed to be an XL Bully breed while on duty.
The incident unfolded at approximately 4.40pm on Thursday when two officers attended an address in Ibstock. They were responding to a call in search of a man wanted by the police when the dog attack occurred. During the encounter, one of the officers was bitten on his upper leg, resulting in serious injuries.
