Maidenhead Town centre on lockdown as 12 fire crews tackle blaze

Twelve fire engines from across Berkshire and Hampshire have been mobilised to a large blaze that has broken out in Maidenhead town in the early hours of this morning. Crews from Maidenhead,Reading,Windsor,Bracknell, Woking, Dee Road and Rushmoor have been sent to the incident that is understood to have e broken out in a town centre development called The Landing Hubbtjat is part of a regeneration project within the town. Officers from Thames valley Police are also currently on scene at the large blaze in the town centre. Most of the town centre is closed at this time due to safety cordons, please avoid the area The Broadway car park is closed due to the fire in Maidenhead. Roads closed and affected by the fire are Broadway, Queen Street, King Street, High Street and Park Street. More to follow
