A man in his 50s from Eastbourne has tragically passed away after being pulled from the sea off the coast of Eastbourne, East Sussex, on Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:25 pm on 22nd October, coastguards were alerted to a person in distress in the water. The Eastbourne Inshore Lifeboat was launched immediately, accompanied by a coastguard helicopter from Lydd and local coastguard teams, to aid in the rescue operation.
“Police were called following concerns for a man in the sea off the coast of Eastbourne at around 2:10 pm on Tuesday, 22nd October. Emergency services responded to the scene, but sadly, the man was pronounced deceased. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. There are no suspicious circumstances, and the matter will now be handled by the coroner.”
