Off-Road Bike Seized by Police in Oldham Crackdown

Police community support officers seized an off-road bike in Oldham as part of ongoing efforts to tackle illegal riding.

Neighbourhood PCSO Quarmby and PCSO Taylor confiscated the bike at the junction of Frederick Street and Chamber Road at around 5:15pm on Saturday, 3 May 2025. The seizure was made under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act, which allows officers to remove uninsured or illegally operated vehicles from public spaces.

Illegal off-road biking continues to be a major concern for residents, with complaints about noise, anti-social behaviour, and safety risks increasing across Oldham.

A spokesperson for the local policing team said:

We are committed to making our streets safer and will not hesitate to take action against anyone riding illegally.

Police are urging the public to report any instances of off-road biking via 101 or the Greater Manchester Police website.
